# 6 Crisis Black Male: Black Woman: Mistress and Concubine

THE DESTRUCTION SERIES The Crisis of the Black Male Part 6: The Black Woman: Mistress and Concubine

As we continue to unlock the mysteries of our past many aspects of our history are sensitive and delicate. Thus we have to be careful in how it is presented. We do not seek to offend anyone. These articles are also not intended to degrade Black women. We are merely noting a stark reality in the history of Black Americans. This particular reality has had an impact on the ongoing Black Holocaust and has impacted on the Crisis of the Black male. Thus we are not making any speculations as to the character of the Black women that were forced into sexual relations with the slave master, nor are we seeking to characterize those women that were willing concubines of the slave master. Those that are offended by Truth we make no apology. Thus "The FreedomJournal is not an apologist for racism. The developing philosophy of racism that breeds exploitation and abuse was not established by Black people. Therefore our mission as a Free Black Press is to expose and record the realities of any question that has impacted on the lives of Black people in the United States and throughout the Diaspora.

Let the record show that even those that were captured and caged, because they survived is a testament to strength. It is also a matter of speculation as to the weakness of those that submitted to degradation for any reason. Will the Mighty Hand of the Creator see blessings in these people, have the blessings come down, are the blessing still further to come? The beginning and the end the first and the last, whom is it read for?

How has the mass miscegenation impacted on the Black male? Of course in this instance we are talking about the miscegenation between Black women and White men. We do not deny the miscegenation of Black men and White women. We do maintain distinct parallels, although we give up lust to both.

Black women were forced and often willing participants in relationships with White men. Historically then, these relationships were experiences of rape. The Black man has no legitimate history of raping White women. Thus his relationships with White women for whatever reason other than lust were consensual.

How then has the mulatto impacted on the Black experience? For the record anyone with any amount of Black blood is considered Black in America. The rest of the world has a different view. Chancellor Williams notes that throughout the Middle East, the Mediterranean, North Africa, etc., mulattoes and even jet-black Africans that speak Arabic and are Muslims are considered White. The sexual exploitation of the Black woman in America was a considerable experience and produced countless offspring. These mixed children would have destroyed the institution of slavery if allowed to enter the White world. Thus once again we see the developing philosophy of racism and its impact on the highest level of human slavery that has ever existed in the annals of mankind. To explain this concern further we will review brief notes from, Africa, the Caribbean and the United States. Chancellor Williams, "The Destruction of Black Civilization argues:

"Ethiopia (the new name for Abyssinia), like the republic of the Sudan, is also ruled by a people of mixed blood who not only do not consider themselves African by race, but who maintain a privileged class society based upon color. To them, all black-skinned Africans are Bantu. To these they feel superior by reason of White blood, and their discriminatory practices are just as subtle and real as those of the whites."

Professor Williams vividly characterizes the results of in-breeding between White Arabs, Europeans and Black women. This in-breeding was an essential element in disunity of Black people. It also caused a loyalty to those outside the Black community and not the Black male.

Frantz Fanon our brother from the Caribbean basin also makes a contribution to this discussion. Fanon in his outstanding research "Black Skin White Masks" offers a historical, political and psychological analysis to our question and concern. Fanon devotes an entire chapter to this question. In a chapter entitled "The Woman of Color and the White Man," Fanon often in fluid poetic verse analyzes Je suis Martiniquaise by Mayotte Capecia.

"Mayotte Capecia a mulatto loves a White man, she writes about her life and her White lover."

Fanon notes: "Je suis Martiniquaise is cut-rate merchandise, a sermon in praise of corruption."

Mayotte Capecia notes: "I should have liked to be married, but to a White man. But a woman of color is never altogether respectable in a White man's eyes. Even when he loves her. I knew that. I love him because he has blue eyes, blond hair, and a light skin."

Fanon notes: "We who come from the Antilles, know one thing only too well: Blue eyes, the people say, frighten the Negro."

Mayotte Capecia in her efforts to enter the White world while denouncing the world of the Blacks is a case of frustration and confusion. She is never accepted. The psychological impact on the rejected Black woman takes an ongoing toll on the Black male and the Black community. To this lost confusion and self hate Fanon records:

"If I am Black, it is not the result of a curse, but it is because, having offered my skin, I have been able to absorb all the cosmic effluvia. I am truly a ray of sunlight under the earth."

On that note we will return to E. Franklin Frazier, "The Negro Family In the United States," to record the dilemma of miscegenation and impact of race mixing in the United States. New Orleans and Charleston were the major centers of concubinage of Black women. In these two cities the mulatto class reached a new level, the record shows that the ladies of New Orleans who attended the Quadroon Balls (where only White men were allowed) were trained to be concubines by their mother's, and the elder women in their families. These women were often free and kept in a house. On the plantation these women under the protection of the master's house severed as wife without the legalities and mistress without the glamour of romance.

Was there resistance to this devastating sexual abuse? (See "John Brown, Slave life In Georgia," edited by L.A. Chameroozou. "At times the resistance to the White man's passion resulted in sadistical revenge upon the woman. In many instances' men of the master race did not meet much resistance on the part of the slave woman."

Fanon gives us more clarity on this question: "Prostitution of slave women became in many cases a private affair. A socially approved system of concubinage was found in Charleston, Mobile and New Orleans."

Frazier now clearly records some reasons why the slave woman submitted to the slave master. "Often the slave was glad to have White blood. The faintest admixture of White blood in their veins appears at once by common consent of their own race, to raise them up in the scale of humanity. There were also certain concrete advantages to be gained by surrendering themselves to the men of the master race that to overcome any moral scruples these women might have had. They received freedom from the drudgery of field labor as well and better food and clothing."

As this scheme develops, we see the Black woman taken into the house and the bedroom. Her indoctrination as a good mistress and concubine did not include any loyalty to the Black man. We also see the mulattoes in slave society being pitted against other Blacks. This same principle held true throughout Africa and the Diaspora, to disrupt the traditional unity among the people from "The Land of the Blacks."

ARE WE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BASED ON RELIGION ARE RACE?

Let it be written that many Black writers have come speaking of many things that are seen in radicalism and controversy. However many in the world support their right to the market place and constitutional guarantees regarding the 1st Amendment. Meanwhile those that come as REAL CHRISTIANS like the writer's of Psyche Z Publishing/FreedomJournal are Censored by a vast assortment of people some as unbelievers and many as so-called Christians. These people also come from the left and the right. However we stand neither left nor right as Jesus Christ encompasses all.

My dearly beloved Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Noah came crying and pleading that the world and its people were consumed with sin. However none sought repentance and looked upon Noah a man of righteousness as crazy.

We bear witness just as Noah came the FreedomJournal also comes crying, writing and teaching that the world is on a constant downward spiral as the multitudes embrace sin and death. Meanwhile Christ Jesus and the Father are forsaken and denied. Repentance is something the ungodly believe can be bought with a money price. Sadly the water will not be able to extinguish the coming Fire. www.psychezpublishing.com
